UK Sea Fish Industry Authority

Role of UK’s Sea Fish Industry Authority to be reviewed SEAFISH is coming under additional scrutiny with a Government announcement of a new review of its role, responsibilities and funding.
Ministers say the review is one of a programme of periodic reviews of non-departmental public bodies undertaken by Departments under Cabinet Office guidelines. The review will take account of the emerging conclusions of the current Review of Levy Bodies operating in the agricultural sector.
The Sea Fish Industry Authority (Seafish) is a levy funded non
departmental public body established under the Fisheries Act 1981 to
serve the interests of the sea fish industry. Based in Edinburgh and
Hull, it has an annual turnover of £11.5m and 117 staff.
