The method is nothing new. I was introduced to it when I first Striper fished by my old buddy “Herman”. He taught me to tie on a 1/4 Bucktail to the tail of a wooded popper. To aid casting distance and reduce “windmilling” a small hole was drilled into the plug at about the one o’clock position just deep enough to stick in the Bucktails hook point. As soon as the combo landed the BuckTail falls free. Fun to have a Striper on the Lure and a Blue on the plug.
I bet thats fun, I guess I didnt think about it enough, its essentially like a teaser rid, a popper then a dropper, im a little slow sometimes hahaha
