TRUMAN: 85 degrees, stained 1 foot high. Outlook: Sterett Creek Marina reports: crappies good on minnows in 10 to 20 feet of water in the brush; black bass good on topwater lures early and late and plastic worms during the day in the timber off points; channel catfish good on jug lines, trotlines with perch. Below the dam: Rocky Top Bait and Archery reports: catfish fair drifting shad.
•LONGVIEW: 87 degrees, 49-inch clarity, slightly low. Outlook: Longview Lake Marina reports: bass good on Power Worms in the flooded vegetation; crappies good (but small) on jigs, minnows off the marina docks and in the coves; channel catfish good on hot dogs in Johnson Cove and near Shelter 12 and off the marina docks.
•NORFORK: 89 degrees, stained, low. Outlook: Bink’s Guide Service reports: stripers good on Bink’s Spoons in 60 to 70 feet of water on creek-channel swings; walleyes good early on jigging spoons in 40 feet of water; bass fair at night on jig and pig in main-lake brush; catfish fair on jug lines with cut bait.
•TANEYCOMO: 48 degrees, clear, power generation in the afternoon. Outlook: Fall Creek Marina reports: trout good on olive-colored jigs under floats and while casting sculpin-colored jigs in the Trophy Area and on Power Bait, night crawlers below Fall Creek.
•SMITHVILLE: 86 degrees, clear, 1 foot low. Outlook: Burton’s Bait and Tackle reports: bass fair on plastic frogs, buzzbaits, topwater lures early and late in the flooded grass and on plastic worms, jigs in main-lake brush and timber; crappies good on minnows 8 feet down in main-lake brush and timber; catfish good on a variety of baits in shallow water on the flats and points.
• LAKE OF THE OZARKS: 82 degrees, fairly clear, normal. Outlook: Gier’s Bass Pro reports: catfish good on cut bait in 15 to 25 feet of water in the creek channels; crappies fair on minnows in 20 to 25 feet of water in the coves; black bass fair on crankbaits, jig and pig in the coves.
•POMME DE TERRE: 88 degrees, clear, one-half foot high. Outlook: Nemo Landing reports: catfish good on juglines, trotlines with perch.
•JAMES A. REED: 88 degrees, clear, full pool. Outlook: Department of Conservation reports: black bass fair early and late along weed edges and in the brush; channel catfish fair on cut shad, chicken liver under bobbers.
•JACOMO: 85 degrees, clear, near normal. Outlook: Forty Woods Bait and Tackle reports: crappies fair on minnows in deep water on the main lake; bluegills fair on crickets.
•TABLE ROCK: 85 degrees, clear, 2 feet low. Outlook: Indian Point Marina reports: white bass poor to fair (a few are being caught on jigging spoons in 40 feet of water near the new spillway).
•STOCKTON: 82 degrees, murky, 6 feet high. Outlook: Mutton Creek Marina reports: crappies poor to fair (a few are being caught on minnows in the brush); catfish poor to fair (a few are being caught on jug lines with perch).
•BLUE SPRINGS: 84 degrees, clear, low. Outlook: Blue Springs Marina reports: crappies fair on the main lake.
•BULL SHOALS: 85 to 90 degrees, clear, 1 foot low. Outlook: Buck Creek Marina reports: white bass poor to fair (a few are being caught when fish are surfacing).
Kansas
•CLINTON: 88 degrees, fairly clear, normal. Outlook: Clinton Lake Marina reports: channel catfish very good on stinkbait, soybeans in baited areas; crappies good on jigs, minnows in 12 to 14 feet of water over the tree tops; white bass, wipers good early and late on jigging spoons, crankbaits where fish are surfacing.
