Weather Improves, Fish CooperatingMother Nature finally provided some good weather on Memorial Day, and area anglers had some success.”People were catching fish pretty much all over,” said Jeff Olson of Charlie’s Resort on Cottonwood Lake. “They were getting walleyes at Buffalo, Roy, and Cattail and a few northerns on Cottonwood. I also saw a couple of Proud Angler smallmouth bass come in.”
Olson also reported a couple of nice crappies and said the walleye bite was better towards evening but that anglers had some success all day.
“There’s a nice variety of fish biting, and people are having some fun,” said Olson.
Marshall County Conservation Officer Aaron Kahre said the walleyes were running a little smaller at Cattail, but that the lake was still a hot spot.
“The fish were running around 20 inches at Cattail, and the northern bite was pretty hot on Cottonwood,” noted Kahre. “Northerns were running in the 2-3-pound range
