Residents and visitors to the state will be able to fish for free at any inland water on July 4.
The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will allow fishing without a license, including a trout license, from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. July 4. Other fishing regulations, including size and creel limits and bait and tackle restrictions, still apply.
For a list of all public fishing areas, Community Fishing Program sites and Tackle Loaner Program sites, visit the Wildlife Commission’s Web site, www.ncwildlife.org, or call the Division of Inland Fisheries, (919) 707-0220.
