INDIAN RIVER COUNTY
A westerly wind created flat calm conditions in the early morning and the fish responded with a decent bite from snook, Spanish mackerel, sheepshead and snapper at the Sebastian Inlet. Topwater plugs are still generating exciting bites from a variety of fish, including redfish.
ST. LUCIE COUNTY
Capt. Fox Watkins of Ruby Gene charters out of Fort Pierce City Marina enjoyed a great day of lobster diving with friends Thursday. Fishing offshore has included kingfish, a few cobia and live bait is plentiful over structure. Snapper fishing has been good inshore and offshore.
MARTIN COUNTY
Tarpon can be spotted rolling throughout the area from the South Fork of the St. Lucie River to the North Fork to C-23 Spillway and at the Crossroads. Snook fishing is good with live bait on circle hooks around the St. Lucie Inlet. Remember, snook are catch and release until Sept. 1.
LAKE OKEECHOBEE
Bass fishing is best in the early part of the day. Bluegill fishing is best early and late in the day. A few specks can still be caught in the Kissimmee River in deeper water. The fish are being caught on jigs with live minnows under the State Road 78 Bridge over the river.
