Fly fishermen near the inlet have experienced fair action

Boca - (13,500 Acre Feet) Inflow is at 185 c.f.s. and the outflow is 106 c.f.s. Warm weather is beginning to open up the lake. Fly fishermen near the inlet have experienced fair action. Nymphs and streamers have accounted for most of the fish caught.
Donner - Shore fishermen have had fair success in the open water. Nightcrawlers and Powerbait seem to be the main bait. Fly fishermen can catch an occasional fish with streamers.
Lake Tahoe Ð At 6227.16 on 3/25/2007 (Lake Level 6223.00) Fishing has been good for mackinaw. A guide is highly recommended if you are fishing for mackinaw for the first time. Toplining and shore fishing is fair. Most shore fishermen use inflated nightcrawlers.
Little Truckee River Ð (182 c.f.s.) Special Winter Angling Regulations Artificial Lures with barbless hooks and a zero bag limit) Fishing has been fair to good for those fishing. The access is good along the entire length.
Prosser Ð (9,800 Acre Feet) Warm weather is beginning to open up the lake. Fishing should be good as the lake begins to ice-out. Fly fishermen are doing some fishing near the inlets where it is opening up. Fishing has been fair.
Stampede Ð (191,000 Acre Feet) Stampede fishing has been fair. Shorefishermen have found action fair. Most are using nightcrawlers or Powerbait. Fly fishermen are using a combination of nymphs and streamers with only fair success. Access may still be limited.
Truckee River Ð (174 c.f.s from Truckee to 528 c.f.s. at Boca Bridge) Ð Special Winter Angling Regulations from Trout Creek to Nevada State Line Ð Consult the Regulation Book for details) The river should be fair for winter angling. Colder water with increasing snow melt. Access to the river is now good.
Other Waters Ð Pyramid Lake northeast of Reno has picked-up for shore fishermen. Fish are now being found in greater numbers in shallow water. Recently anglers have experienced pretty good action. The fish are very large this season and in great shape. Try black, white and chartreuse woolly buggers, and chartreuse and black beetles on a sinking line, and bead-head flies with a floating line under an indicator. The weather has warmed up a bit and the water temperature is beginning its climb. The fishing should progressively get better as get farther into March and April.
