Area Fishing Report Ukiah

Lake Mendocino

Ukiah angler Steve Yates pulled a 16-pound, 30-inch channel cat from the channel on the north end of the lake this week using chicken liver as a bait. Catfish have been good in the north end.

Blue gill are hitting worms off the dock in the south end of the lake, and stripers are still good all over in the mornings and evenings. Nightcrawlers and minnows have proven to be good striper bate.

Mendocino Coast

Rock cod has been really good lately, despite the slight swells on the sea. Seas should be coming down soon, improving the fishing. Torpedo jigs have worked well for cod near Elk.

Blue Lakes

Fishing on Blue Lakes has been really slow of late. Some trout are being caught here and there, according to The Narrows Resort. Conditions should improve with the changing weather patterns.
