Fisherman dies in vessel accident

The accident happened at the harbour in Lochinver
A 52-year-old fisherman has died and another has been injured in an accident aboard a Spanish-registered trawler.
Police said a pallet of fish boxes which was being winched from the hold of the MFV Kirrixki at Lochinver came loose and fell on the men on Saturday.
One man died at the scene and the other’s injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
Northern Constabulary said the Health and Safety Executive and the coastguard had been informed about the incident.
The accident happened at about 0345 BST aboard the vessel.
The dead man’s identity has not been released by the police.
