David Dobson said scientists are “barking up the wrong tree” and “need to get their facts right”.

And Whitehaven-based Mr Dobson branded as “codswallop” last week’s Royal Commission report, which called for a ban on fishing in nearly a third of British waters.

It proposed massive protected zones, banning all fishing in parts of the North Sea, Irish Sea and west of Scotland.
