36 feared dead as trawler capsizes in Bay – Six fishing trawlers from Pirozpur that had gone missing were reported to have capsized in the Bay of Bengal with 60 fishermen being caught in the storm.
Twenty-four fishermen who returned to the Parer Hat Matsya Bandar after floating for three days on the sea water with the help of other fishing trawlers informed on Sunday that 36 fishermen had gone missing.
They feared that those fishermen had already died on the sea.
Earlier on September 17 six trawlers went missing as they went out on the sea for fishing.
Meanwhile, 11 crews of Bangladeshi FB-86 trawler that had entered the Indian waters are yet to return to Pirozpur from the Indian police custody.
Indian coast guards and members of navy caught them as the trawler entered Indian waters due to storm and handed them over to Himulganj and Digha thana police.
