More than £1m of taxpayers money was wasted in the decommissioning of NI trawlers, according to a report.
The Audit Office criticised how the Department of Agriculture ran three schemes and the way it decided which boats would be grant-aided.

Environmentalists clashed with the fishing industry yesterday over calls to ban cod catches next year.
The advice came from the scientists at the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) who say the move is necessary to boost stocks in UK waters.

Fishing has been consistent over the past week with lots of fish being caught. Kings, grouper, dolphin, wahoo and false albacore are being caught in the offshore waters with spots, blues, drum, flounder, pompano and whiting from the surf, piers and inshore water.
