Lexington’s Robert Walser reeled in almost 35 pounds of bass out of the Connecticut River near Hartford to win the three-day Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League All-American Tournament.
Walser took home a $140,000 top prize.

Kingfish were reliable for anglers drifting or trolling around platforms within 20 miles of the beach.
Tarpon were showing in good numbers several miles south of the Freeport jetties, and several boats reported numerous hookups on lures and natural baits. Calm weather should continue to favor sight-casting to rolling fish.
