Beachfront
Swell from Hurricane Wilma started filling in along the upper Texas coast. Surf was moderately rough, but water clarity remained green along many stretches. Inshore water readings were in the mid-70s.
Recent pier catches were highlighted by good numbers of large Spanish mackerel. Increasing surf and tide activity might trigger redfish runs.

Cherry Grove Pier | Three sheepshead (one at 7 pounds) caught. Whiting caught with cut bait. 16 inch flounder caught. Bluefish caught with cut mullet and blue rigs. Spadefish caught with cut bait, shrimp. Lookdown or horsehead also caught.
